StoryWalk®

We hope you enjoyed Daniel Finds a Poem! Congratulations to our winners of their own copy of Daniel Finds a Poem! Thank you Friends of the Butler Public Library for purchasing our prize books, and thank you Dwight Foster Public Library in Fort Atkinson for sharing this StoryWalk®!

Our next title is Kite Flying by Grace Lin. Look for it beginning June 11th!

Kite Flying celebrates the Chinese tradition of kite making and kite flying and lovingly depicts a family bonded by this ancient and modern pleasure.

Our Kite Flying StoryWalk® is brought to us through a grant from the Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Wisconsin Madison. To learn more about the program click here.

StoryWalk® is a wonderful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to stakes, which are installed outside. Following a path, you’re directed to each page in the story. At the end, you have read a whole book!

Storyboards start in the front yard of the Library and you follow the story along on the numbered signs. Please take a moment to scan our QR code at the end so we may track the number of people who have read the story.

We have more stories we are working on, we’ll let you know when the next one goes up!

All of our StoryWalks® are sponsored by Friends of the Butler Library. Thank you!!

StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and has developed with the help of Rachel  Senechal, Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

Our StoryWalk Questionnaire can be completed here.
