Village & Library Board Vacancies

Interested in getting involved in the Community?

There is one vacancy on the Village Board starting in August. Unfortunately, Trustee Marc VanGompel is resigning due to relocating outside of the Village. The term runs through April 2020. Applications for the vacancy will be accepted through August 7, 2019. Interested parties should complete the application and return it to Village Administrator, Kayla Chadwick at kchadwick@butlerwi.gov. Interviews for the Board Vacancy will take place at the Board’s August 20 meeting.

There are also have a number of vacancies on the Library Board. The Library Board is responsible for the oversight of the Library Director and sets programming and circulation goals for the Library. Applications for the vacancy will be accepted through August 7, 2019. Interested parties should complete the application and return it to Village Administrator, Kayla Chadwick at kchadwick@butlerwi.gov

Adult Summer Reading

When you finish a book, share the title, author, and what you liked about the book on an Adult Summer Reading Ticket (orange). Drop the ticket in one of the boxes for a chance to win that prize!

Winners will be drawn at our End of Summer Reading Program Wrap-Up Party on July 31st at 11:30am.  (You don’t need to be present to win.)

Butler Library Lego Club

With the support of the Friends of Butler Library, we are happy to announce the return of Lego Club!

Children in grades 5K-5th grade are invited to build some Lego creations with the Butler Library’s Legos on the fourth Thursday of each month from 6-7pm.  The group will meet in the conference room right off the Children's area. Younger siblings are welcome to come and use the Duplo blocks during club time. Parents and/or caregivers do need to stay onsite during the event.

Creations will then be put out on display in the Children's area until the following month.

Turning 65? Welcome to Medicare Class

Are you or a loved one turning 65 this year? Confused about your Medicare options? What plan is right for you? Join Tracy Lipinski, SHIP Outreach Specialist for Waukesha County to learn the A,B,C and D's of Medicare at the Butler Library. This is a free class that can be helpful 2-3 months before starting Medicare. Bring your questions!

The Friends of Butler Library are always looking for new members. The Friends seek to promote the library programs, resources and services available to the community. Our primary mission is to raise funds to help support and improve the library! Meetings are usually quarterly, more often if needed, for about an hour (typically on a Monday). 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your child starts kindergarten. Start today by coming into the library to register and pick up your first log.
