Summer Reading Program for Kids Preschool to High School!

Registration begins Saturday, June 8th 10:00-3:00 - Come in for your Reading Records and a Bingo Card. Chances during the entire program to earn entry tickets for raffle prizes.

Monday, June 10th - Saturday, July 27th - Official Summer Reading!  Earn a Coupon Packet after the first 10 days of reading!

Fun programs or activities during Summer Reading every Friday at 1:00 pm. Look for more information soon!

Wednesday, July 31st @ 11:30am - Wrap Up Party - prize winners drawn and refreshments served.


Adult Summer Reading

Monday, June 10th-Saturday, July 27th, 2019

When you finish a book, share the title, author, and what you liked about the book on an Adult Summer Reading Ticket (orange). Drop the ticket in one of the boxes for a chance to win that prize!

Winners will be drawn at our End of Summer Reading Program Wrap-Up Party on July 31st at 11:30am.  (You don’t need to be present to win.)

We will display some of your favorite books to share with other patrons!


Butler Recipe Club

Wednesday, June 5th, bring in your favorite dish from any Betty Crocker cookbook along with a copy of the recipe to the Butler Public Library at 5:30 pm for an evening of tasting and sharing recipes. For more information,

Recognizing a Scam

Officer Knapp of the Butler Police Department will present a program to help citizens recognize and deal with attempted scams and frauds. He will be addressing what a scam is, what to do if you think you’ve been scammed, the top 5 scams, and examples of real life experiences. There will be plenty of time for questions!

Butler Library Lego Club

With the support of the Friends of Butler Library, we are happy to announce the return of Lego Club!

Children in grades 5K-5th grade are invited to build some Lego creations with the Butler Library’s Legos on the fourth Thursday of each month from 6-7pm.  The group will meet in the conference room right off the Children's area. Younger siblings are welcome to come and use the Duplo blocks during club time. Parents and/or caregivers do need to stay onsite during the event.

Creations will then be put out on display in the Children's area until the following month.

Turning 65? Welcome to Medicare Class

Are you or a loved one turning 65 this year? Confused about your Medicare options? What plan is right for you? Join Tracy Lipinski, SHIP Outreach Specialist for Waukesha County to learn the A,B,C and D's of Medicare at the Butler Library. This is a free class that can be helpful 2-3 months before starting Medicare. Bring your questions!

The Friends of Butler Library are always looking for new members. The Friends seek to promote the library programs, resources and services available to the community. Our primary mission is to raise funds to help support and improve the library! Meetings are usually quarterly, more often if needed, for about an hour (typically on a Monday). 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your child starts kindergarten. Start today by coming into the library to register and pick up your first log.
