General Computer Information
We ask that you do not eat while sitting at the computers. Drinks are allowed but only in covered containers. Butler Public Library has the following for public use:
- 5 public computers with internet access are available for patrons and guests.
- A CAFÉ Library Card or a single-use Guest Pass is required for computer use. A Guest Pass is available at the Circulation Desk.
- Free wireless internet access is available at the library to use with your personal devices.
- Headphones are available at the front desk for use on the computers.

Public Computer FAQs
What do I need to sign on?
Your CAFÉ Library Card, with internet permission, and CAFÉ password.
What if I don’t have a CAFÉ Library Card?
If you are a Wisconsin resident, you may qualify for a CAFÉ Library Card. Visit our Circulation Policy for more information on obtaining a library card. Guest passes are also available.
How much time will I have on the computer?
CAFÉ Card holders will begin with 60 minutes, with the option to renew up to two times if no one else is waiting for a computer. A guest pass holder will have 60 minutes on the computer. All computers will shut down 15 minutes before the library closes. Please save your work to your external media, if necessary, prior to this time.
What if I need more time?
Contact library staff if you require more time than allowed on the computer.
Can I print from the computer?
Yes, you are able to print in black & white for 25 cents, or color for 50 cents per side. We accept cash and checks made out to the Village of Butler. Credit/debit card payment can be made with a minimum $10 charge.
